12/12/08 - LFC Armada Plus Launched

Declared by Axa as “One of the best proposals they have seen from the Broking community in relation to risk management”, LFC Armada Plus is launched by LFC Insurance Group today.

In partnership with the Institute of Advanced Motorists, LFC Armada Plus is a unique concept that will improve the performance of motor fleets, help commercial clients by reducing associated costs, and provide peace of mind in relation to health and safety issues surrounding fleet drivers.

There is nothing new about driver training; the problem has always been persuading fleet clients to invest in a driver training programme, especially in a difficult economic climate.  LFC Armada Plus gets round this obstacle by funding the driver assessment and online training elements of such a programme for fleet clients.  The practical side of managing the programme is carried out by the commercial arm of the IAM, Drive and Survive, the market leaders in fleet driver training.  LFC are the only brokers working with the IAM on this initiative.

LFC Insurance is an independent commercial broking group based in Essex and Sussex and are happy to add value for clients in this way.  As MD Jerry Clayton said, “By working in partnership with seven leading insurers, and the IAM, we are confident that we have demonstrated our commitment to the effective risk management of motor fleets, by putting our money where our mouth is”.

In cases where high risk drivers are identified by the online assessment, Drive and Survive will offer tailored on-road coaching for those drivers, at the client’s expense.  This is a recommended, but not compulsory, part of the programme.

Clayton continued, “We would very much like to thank our insurer partners for their commitment to this idea.  By jointly working on the LFC Armada Plus programme, we fully expect the fleet underwriting results for insurers to improve and their contribution in this respect is appreciated.  Together we hope to ensure that all parties involved benefit including, of course, the road users of Britain through improved road safety”.

30/07/08 - 2008 Golf Day Report

For the fifth year running, Three Rivers hosted the clients and suppliers of the
LFC Insurance Group for their annual golf day on 3rd July 2008. The gloomy weather forecast, apart from a sudden cloudburst just before lunch, proved inaccurate and the balmy conditions helped produce some excellent golf on the King's course. Read more about the event here.

21/04/08 - LFC Acquire Shield Policies

LFC Insurance Group, the South-East based commercial brokers, today announced that they had acquired the shareholding of R. S. Hayworth & Co Ltd trading as Shield Policies. This underwriting agency has a track record going back to 1923 and operates from Feering, near Colchester, in Essex.

Shield has provided their 200 agents around the UK with an excellent range of SME targeted commercial policies, as well as writing direct for certain niche trades. They will now trade as LFC Shield and Group Managing Director, Jerry Clayton expressed his delight that the deal had been concluded:

“After our many broker acquisitions over the last few years, this was a great opportunity to build a more integrated model with genuine underwriting capabilities. The Shield team are very professional and have built their reputation on quality of service above all else. That fits perfectly with what we have always done at LFC and I am very excited about the potential prospects.

As far as LFC Shield clients are concerned, we will, with the willing support from our insurer partners, be able to offer them significant cover improvements, while still being highly competitive on premiums and with no compromise on service.

This acquisition will move our gross written premium towards our 2008 target of £30million and means that we will be operating from 3 sites in Essex, in addition to our Sussex operation. We will not be resting on our laurels but will be actively engaging with the agents, most of whom are independent brokers, to see what requirements they have and how we can meet those needs in the future.”

19/02/08 - 20th Anniversary Bash

Celebrations were on the menu when the entire LFC Group met on 19 January 2008 in the glamorous surroundings of the Marriott Tudor Park Hotel and Country Club in Maidstone.

The occasion was a special one to mark 20 years since LFC began. Over 100 staff, many with their partners, enjoyed a dinner and dance at the luxury resort in the heart of the Kent countryside. It was an opportunity for people who speak frequently on the phone to speak face to face in a relaxed atmosphere complete with a glass of bubbly in hand. All three LFC offices were represented – LFC’s head office based in South Woodham Ferrers, LFC Pinhey from Westcliff-on-Sea and LFC Mainstay from Eastbourne.

Further expansion plans are in the pipeline and full details will be revealed during 2008.
